When to consider Injectables and Fillers
Imagine that you took an eraser to your forehead and smudged away those lines. Do the same to your laugh lines. Your look is instantly rejuvenated, your skin is smooth and your appearance is refreshed. Precision injections of dermal fillers and relaxers are one of the most popular aesthetic treatments at Ennis Plastic Surgery. Fillers plump up wrinkles and the hollows under your eyes. They lift sagging skin and enhance lips. Relaxers block muscles from contracting that causes the lines to begin with.
We are proud to offer the best products from the top manufacturers that offer clinical results, consistent outcomes and FDA-cleared products. This allows you the flexibility to use products that give you the best results and also the opportunity to confidently add new products to address new needs. Popular Dermal Injectables
Injectables: Botulinum Toxin A, a derived protein that works by relaxing targeted muscles. Relaxers have become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures and are the perfect solution for anyone looking for a safe, quick, and affordable means of removing laugh lines, forehead creases, premature facial wrinkles, addressing excessive sweating and treating spasms. Ennis Plastic Surgery providers have advanced training with these procedures, which results in a superior experience for our patients.
Relaxers are the most common cosmetic treatment, with more than three million treatments performed per year. As people age the effects of gravity and the stress of daily life can be seen on their faces. Injectables do not stop this process, but can return youthfulness to your face. They are most commonly used to treat dynamic wrinkles such as forehead lines, “crow’s feet,” and frown lines. Younger patients benefit from adopting a preventive skincare regimen that includes regular use of relaxers, keeping the lines and creases from forming in the skin in the first place.
KYBELLA™ is the first and only approved injectable drug for contouring moderate to severe submental fullness, a condition that is commonly referred to as a double chin. KYBELLA™ is a non-human and non-animal formulation of deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.i When injected into subcutaneous fat, KYBELLA™ causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.ii KYBELLA™ (deoxycholic acid) injection is indicated for improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe convexity or fullness associated with submental fat in adults. The safe and effective use of KYBELLA™ for the treatment of subcutaneous fat outside the submental region has not been established and is not recommended.
Problem area: Forehead and Crow’s Feet
KYBELLA FOR DOUBLE CHIN
Despite diet and exercise, some people have a very hard time getting rid of an unwanted double chin. Until recently, the only treatment for a double chin was facial liposuction, a popular but somewhat invasive procedure. Now there is the Kybella injectable, a fat modulator product that targets submental (below the chin) fat.
What can be expected?
Kybella is made of a synthetic deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring body substance that breaks down fat cells and cholesterol from our diets. The synthetic doxycholic acid works by breaking up fat cells that are accumulated under the chin and contribute to the unwanted appearance of a double chin.
Kybella is used for treating moderate to severe fullness below the chin. The physician will evaluate the extent of submental fullness and determine if the patient is an appropriate candidate for treatment. The treatment requires 25-30 injections to the area. There may be some swelling for about one week after treatment. Optimal results require treatment approximately every month for a total of 2 to 6 treatment sessions. The results are not instantaneous, but they are lasting.
Where is it injected?
Kybella injections are given in the area of the fat cell accumulation, in the midline of the neck. The physician precisely administers the injections in the designated region. Currently, this fat modulator product is not intended for the jowls, or other areas of the face due to the risk of unwanted side effects. For other areas, facial liposuction is best indicated.
How long does it last?
Unlike other injectables, Kybella treatments are meant to provide permanent* results. The molecule is designed to permanently* break up the fat cells in the region. Therefore, as long as the patient does not gain weight, the results can be permanent*.
What does it cost?
Each treatment costs varies depending on the extent and amount of injections needed. Each patient will require at least 2 and up to 6 treatments. To find out more on pricing, please call 561-405-9020.

Dermal Fillers
The secret to an age-defying look is precision injections of dermal fillers. Restoring lost volume, diminishing creases and reducing fine lines takes years off your face without dramatically changing your appearance. Dermal fillers have been called liquid facelifts because they offer many of the benefits of a traditional facelift, without the surgery.
Using a combination of three products, each specially formulated for a distinct area of the face, can offer near instant facial rejuvenation. For instance, your liquid facelift could include a relaxer for your upper face, minimizing creases in the forehead, frown lines and softening crow’s feet. Then augment cheek bones and lift the mid face with products like Voluma or Perlane. Lastly, smooth lines around the mouth, even plump lips a bit with products like Juvederm or Silk. One, two, three and you’ve erased years from your look!
Enjoy the effects of enhanced facial contours with fillers like Voluma, softened crow’s feet with injectables, and plumper lips with Silk or Juvederm. How you came about this fountain of youth can be your secret.

JUVEDERM FOR SMILE LINES
Juvederm is an injectable filler that reduces fine lines and restores lost facial volume without altering your ability to achieve natural facial expressions. Juvederm offers several products including: Juvederm XC, Juvederm Ultra XC, and Juvederm VOLUMA XC gel.
What can be expected?
Smile lines and marionette lines age the face, encircling the lips and mouth with unwanted creases. Smile lines run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth and marionette lines run straight down the corners of the mouth. They can make you look unhappy and aged. They are a result of lost facial volume and lost skin elasticity.
Juvederm is a dermal injectable that is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring sugar that works to hydrate the skin, giving it volume. With age, our bodies stop producing sufficient HA, contributing to facial wrinkles and lost facial fullness.
Where is it injected?
Juvederm XC gel is injected into the facial lines between the nose and mouth as well as the lines that run from the mouth down toward the chin. The injections help to bring hydration and fullness to the treatment area, filling in the creases and restoring a smoother and more youthful appearance.
How long does it last?
Juvederm injections typically last 6-12 months. Many patients return every 6 months for maintenance injections, in order to keep their smooth results.
What does it cost?
Dermal fillers are priced per syringe. Many patients use 1-3 syringes per treatment application. To find out more on pricing, please call 561-405-9020.
JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC FOR SUNKEN CHEEKBONES
Juvederm VOLUMA XC comes from the trusted line of Juvederm fillers. It is intended to restore lost facial volume in the cheeks and lips, without negatively impacting your ability to achieve natural facial expressions.
What can be expected?
Juvederm VOLUMA XC is a dermal injectable that is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring sugar that works to hydrate the skin, giving it volume. With age, our bodies stop producing sufficient HA, contributing to lost facial volume and a sunken, hollow appearance over the cheekbones.
The patient will participate in a consultation in which the physician will determine if a filler will adequately improve the lost fullness around the cheeks. In that case, the physician may recommend Juvederm VOLUMA XC due to is low risk of allergic reaction and its approval for individuals with all skin tones.
Where is it injected?
When addressing age related volume loss of the face, Juvederm VOLUMA XC is meant for deep injection in the cheeks. These injections work to “plump” the cheeks, restoring a more youthful and full contour.
How long does it last?
Treatment typically lasts 6-12 months for dermal fillers. The outcomes are visible immediately after injection and continue to improve over the course of the first week.
What does it cost?
Just like using Juvederm for facial lines, pricing for Juvederm VOLUMA XC is priced per syringe. Many patients use 2-3 syringes per treatment application.

SILK FOR THIN LIPS
Silk is a hyaluronic acid (HA) based filler that is intended for plumping, filling and defining the lips. It can also be used to fill the wrinkles around the mouth, further improving the appearance of the lips.
What can be expected?
With age, some people lose fullness or definition of their lips. Others lack fullness in the lips naturally. Fortunately, Silk injections sculpt and plump the lips. It is a gel based filler, made from HA. When injected, the HA acts as a magnet for water, boosting volume.
Where is it injected?
Silk is specifically made to improve the mouth and lips. It uses smaller and smoother particles, in comparison to other products. The smaller size improves outcomes in delicate skin, such as the lips and surrounding areas. Injections are administered around the mouth and directly in the lips, depending on intended outcomes. Silk contains lidocaine, an anesthetic that reduces discomfort during injection.
How long does it last?
Results typically last at 6 months for Silk. Most clients schedule maintenance injections twice yearly to keep their results.
What does it cost?
The cost of Silk depends on the amount of product needed to achieve the desired results. A patient using Silk for lip plumping will not spend as much as someone using it for lip plumping as well as filling of facial creases around the lips. To find out more on pricing, call (561) 266-4344.
